RSS Feed Launches at the Source

Story

Website News

RSSHKDL Source drags itself kicking and screaming into the 21st century by finally adding a RSS newsfeed to the site. This is all part of our HKDL Source 2.0 rollout of new features to celebrate our first anniversary of bringing you all the latest Hong Kong Disneyland news.

That's right folks, you can now subscribe directly to HKDL Source's newsfeed either directly through the browser you are using or by utlising an aggregator of some sort. Many of you will already be familiar with using RSS Feeds, but for those of you who aren't, please allow us to suggest a few options for you.

If you are using the latest version of Mozilla Firefox (recommended) or Internet Explorer 7 (and if you are using IE6, we recommend you upgrade), you may have already noticed that small orange signal appearing in your browser. That means that you subscribe directly to the news site using their live bookmarks or similar set-up. Alternatively, you will probably be given the option of using one of the three major free readers below. We've made it easy for you by providing these quick links if you already have an account set up:

Or for an absolutely insane amount of  other options, scroll your mouse over the Subscribe text below for a drop down box with a whole bunch of readers that we hadn't even heard of until now.

Of course, if you prefer your news delivered directly to you, you may want to look at a downloadable RSS aggregator such as Sage (an add-on for Mozilla and Firefox browsers) or Feed Demon. These allow fully customisable ways of looking at this and other RSS feeds.

Where is your family and Left Leg House?You are NUTS unless you use our RSS!

A BIG THANKS goes out to Alex Sakker, who managed to get this off the ground despite mounting work and other committments. As mentioned, this is all part of our slow roll-out of new features to celebrate a year in the news-reporting business. While we had hoped to launch them all at once on our birthday last week, life occasionally gets in the way of fun. Besides, it is a bit more fun rolling out each feature one-by-one isn't it?

Other things you will see over the coming weeks include:

  • a more interactive site;
  • features such as user comments on news stories and articles;
  • user submissions;
  • expanded trip reports;
  • additions to the gallery;
  • competitions;
  • video sections and a whole lot more.

Naturally, if you want to be amongst the first to know when all of these things hit - including our competition with actual physical prizes - you are going to want to hit up our RSS Feed right away or risk missing out on a world of goodness, squirrels and fancy things in this crazy world that will eventually become HKDL Source 2.0

It all starts today! From this afternoon, you'll be the first to know about the This Week in Hong Kong Disneyland column going to press. If that isn't a reason to add us to your feed list, then I'll just feed on my own squirrel!
