Dumbo the Flying Elephant

This classic ride is a 1955 original of the California park, and it makes its way to Hong Kong without the aid of a magic feather. Climb aboard Dumbo and fly high above Fantasyland. The best part is, you've got the magic feather and you control how high and low it will go.

Based on the 1941 film, Dumbo the Flying Elephant is what has been referred to as a 'hub and spoke' attraction. That is, a number of Dumbo-shaped carriages rotate around a central hub, attached by a sturdy spoke. A similar attraction is the Orbitron in Tomorrowland. It is a fancy variation on the Carousel, but it is an incredibly popular one.

With Timothy the Mouse greeting visitors from the ground, guests hop inside a Dumbo carriage (maximum 2 guests per elephant). The hub begins to rotate, sending the Dumbos gently upwards and around in a circle. Guests can move a lever inside the carriage that controls whether you want Dumbo to fly up or down. The ride lasts around 2 minutes.

This is an ideal ride for smaller children, and is sure to be incredibly popular with preschoolers. Loads slower than some rides, although the lines go through fairly quickly.
