Celebrate Christmas at Ho-Ho-Hong Kong Disneyland!Celebrate Christmas at Ho-Ho-Hong Kong Disneyland!

NB: This page is an archive. For current Christmas plans and celebrations, see the main Christmas page.

Christmas and Disneyland seem to go hand in hand. In a tradition almost as old as the parks themselves, watch Hong Kong Disneyland be transformed from Halloween haunts into a Winter Wonderland this festive season!

Snow on Main Street

The Christmas Celebrations are already in full swing as you hit Main Street, USA. With snow flakes falling on the rooftops and decorations adorning the shops and buildings of this turn-of-the-century locale, it will be hard not to be filled with the festive spirit.

The centrepiece of this display is the 60-foot Christmas tree that sits in Town Square. You could be a part of the Tree Lighting Ceremony that happens every night at 6pm, just before you watch the first snowflakes fall on Main Street. The first official lighting will be at approximately 6:10 PM on November 10.

Festivus for the Rest of Us

The 2006 festivities will run from November 11 to December 31, culminating in the New Year's Eve Party and a countdown to 2007. Hong Kong Disneyland have classified December 21 through December 31 as Special Ticket Days, so you'll need to get your tickets early! This applies to almost all of the month of December for Hotel bookings as well.

At 6pm every night, Town Square and the Christmas Tree will light up for an all-new musical ceremony guaranteed to have you decking the halls with boughs of...something jolly.

Christmas is time to lend a helping hand!

Christmas is time to lend a helping hand!

Of course, it wouldn't be Christmas without Santa Claus. You'll get a chance to meet a greet everybody's favourite jolly fat man both in the park and the Hotels. Santa's 'helpers' this year will be all the Disney characters decked up in their winter best.

Speaking of Hotels, you'll also be able to take part in Santa's Training Workshops, teaching children to create gifts and cards, sing songs, slide down chimneys and more! With storytelling every night during the season, adults will have plenty of opportunities to sneak off and buy their little ones a Disney Christmas present and hide it from them in a spot that the kids are bound to find anyway. Santa Goofy will also be on hand to help out the big fat man this Christmas.

Gifts That Keep on Giving

Disney being Disney will miss no opportunity to inject a dose of holiday spirit into their merchandise, and  there will be literally hundreds of gifts to choose from. Well, over 130 Christmas and winter-themed gifts is the official word.

The Season of Getting

The Season of Getting

With everything from pins to plush toys, clothing, cookies and sweets and a host of other Disneyland themed holiday madness, one thing is for sure - there won't be any excuses for an empty spot under the tree this year!

The full range of Christmas gifts can be found on the official site right here.

Seasons Stuffings

It wouldn't be Christmas without eating way too much and going on a health kick shortly after New Year. Hong Kong Disneyland makes it way too easy to stuff yourself like a turkey.

Main Street will have a variety of festive foods for filling your face. With everything from traditional stuffed turkey and Christmas pudding to freshly roasted chestnuts and Mickey Ginger Biscuits, you'll be sure to find a festive favourite here.

Christmas Food. Mmm.In addition to the other hotel events, such as Santa and character greetings, Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Hollywood Hotel will be putting on a special Christmas spread. Throughout the season, that is November 11 to December 31, special buffets at the Enchanted Garden and Chef Mickey, Christmas cakes and snacks at the fast service counters and Christmas cocktails in the bars. The Enchanted Garden at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel will offer roasted Vermont turkey with giblet gravy, raspberry bread and butter pudding, Christmas puddings, Yule Log cakes, chestnut trifles and more, with prices starting from HK$180 for children and HK$398 for adults. The slightly more affordable Hollywood Hotel will offer roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, pumpkin bisque with seafood and more from HK$149 for kids and HK$298 for adults.

There will also be a Festive High Tea at the Grand Salon and Sorceror's Lounge at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel, with prices ranging from HK$88 to HK$208. The Crystal Lotus at the same Hotel will offer three different set menus: Winter Solstice Celebration (December 22 only) as well as Special Chinese (December 1 to 22) and Christmas Menus (December 23 to 25 and 31st). Between December 23 and Christmas Day, as well as New Year's Eve, the Hotel is also offering a Christmas Carvery with honey glazed gammon ham and roast Christmas turkey with chestnut stuffing.

Meanwhile, over at the Hollywood Hotel, you can enjoy a Christmas dinner of Turkey and Ham Picatta, grilled beef tenderloin and Tiger Prawn between December 23 and 25, on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day 2007. Drinks and refreshments will be available on the Sunset Terrace and Hollywood & Dine.
